Therapy
Therapy is not a “one size fits all” process. The most appropriate type of talk therapy is determined by your symptoms, timeline, and goals for treatment. Dr. Dube is trained in multiple therapy modalities to help you decide what works best for you. Research most often identifies that medication management along with talk-therapy yield the best results for restoring healthy mental functioning.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
ART is a newer evidence-based approach to psychotherapy that emphasizes rapid recovery for clients by reprogramming the brain’s ability to store memories and imagery from traumatic distressing experiences. It combines memory visualization techniques and specific eye movements so that such traumatic memories and images no longer trigger strong physical and emotional responses. ART is best suited to clients seeking resolution to traumas and phobias.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is an approach to mental health that has a holistic focus on clients and their issues. Within the safety of a therapeutic relationship, clients have the space to talk in-depth regarding themselves and their relationship with the external world with the expectation to overcome negative and contradictory feelings and repressed emotions. Psychodynamic psychotherapy allows for patients to learn to analyze and resolve their issues and change their behavior through a longer-term, deeper exploration of earlier experiences and emotions.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT is an evidence-based approach to mental health that investigates the relationship between recognizing thoughts and changing behaviors. Clients understand the connection between their thoughts and their behaviors with the support of their therapist in order to improve their present life conditions. Clients often do homework outside of the therapeutic environment, and are taught practical techniques to shift mood and understanding of life experiences.
Supportive Psychotherapy
Supportive psychotherapy is the combination of several psychotherapeutic approaches, and emphasizes the reduction and relief of intensity of the clients’ distress, disabilities, and symptoms. It also seeks to reduce the behavioral issues associated with the constellation of conflicts and disturbances. Within the safety of the therapeutic relationship, the clients will be supported by their therapist to adopt healthier behaviors and thoughts to replace the unhealthy ones.
