What is Integrative Psychiatry?

Integrative psychiatry is a holistic patient-centered approach to treat, mitigate and manage mental health issues. It is patient-focused, and emphasizes health and well-being in all aspects of a client’s life including emotional, functional, social, mental, spiritual and community functioning. While medications are used in treatment, they are combined with psychotherapy and a whole range of complementary and alternative therapies to create interventions with the cooperation of clients to optimize their health and lifestyles.
